SEMI-STATIC ROPES

Ropes designed to be used as a means of progression, to be ascended and descended comfortably.They also offer a minimum degree of safety in falls up to factor 1. The person who uses this type of rope must always be situated below the rope anchor point.

These are ropes intended to be used in the field of work at height, caving, canyoning and rescue.

Cuerda semiestática Tipo A

Type A

This is the maximum category of a semi-static rope, which offers users the widest safety margins. It is the type of rope to be used by professionals, rescue teams, caving groups made up of large teams, in equipment for mountain routes and for work on Big Walls. It may be ascended and descended as a single rope.

Cuerda semiestática Tipo B

Type B

Category of rope inferior to type A, offering limited margins and requiring greater attention when being used, especially in terms of installation. This is the type of rope to use in caving, canyoning, mountain expedition equipment and Big Walls.

It should be used by experienced, well trained groups in small numbers and may be ascended and descended as a single rope.

DYNAMIC ROPES

Ropes designed to absorb the greatest amount of energy possible in the case of a fall. Created to protect climbers and mountaineers and to arrest their falls. Constructed to arrest falls up to factor 2

Cuerda Dinámica simple

Single

Single ropes are the most common type of climbing rope.

As a part of the safety chain, capable of absorbing as a single line a fall by one person. Designed for sport climbing, free and pulley climbing and Big Walls.

Cuerda Dinámica doble

Half

Capable of absorbing the fall of the lead climber when used doubled as a part of the safety chain. These ropes must be passed through alternate carabiners. Designed for free climbing, mountaineering, ice or mixed climbing.

Cuerda Dinámica gemela

Twin

Capable of absorbing a one-person fall doubled and used as a parallel rope as part of the safety chain. These ropes must be passed together through the carabiners. Intended basically for long routes on high mountains.
